What Does Heaven Mean Today?

The Holy Bible says that Heaven and earth were Created in Acts that stretched six days.  Throughout the text, angels from Heaven descend to earth and intervene to, for example, save the children of Israel.  The Bible says very little about the original significance of Heaven or who resides there.

Perhaps the idea of "Heaven" exists to encourage goodness by rewarding positive acts of faith and adherence to the prescribed moral code with eternal life?  By this theory, Heaven is a motivational tool for those who would sin without a potential reward for a good life.

I wince a bit when ministers proclaim Heaven as a reward since it is more important than that.  Heaven literally exists and is a cross between a church and an university.  Heaven is home to only the Lord, archangels, angels, and their helpers; these beings come from ministers, monks, nuns, agnostics, scientists, professors and students, leaders, and meditators.  There may be Greek, Roman, Christian, ancient Egyptian, Zen, Sikh, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, Jain, Hindu, and animist angels (and more).  Thus, by this theory, Heaven is a place for the best of humanity.

Heaven has a role to play outside of those who may ascend into that sacred space.  Heaven exists to guide humanity to a better life.  Heaven accounts for the origin of every existing religion and is hands on with the future content and worship practices of each faith.  Heaven's knowledge guides its action and in turn, human change.  Heaven is not just a reward but an achievement.  The people and things that exist in Heaven are a testament to human potential.
